A. Provides emergency health care services to patients.

B. Examines field patients, performs triage exams, and compiles medical data, including health history.

C. Performs field emergency therapeutic procedures to stabilize trauma victims, such as blast injuries, gsw’s or other types of multi-system trauma under hostile conditions.

D. Renders direct patient care, including assessing and diagnosing.

E. Applies scientific knowledge to human treatment responses to actual health problems.

F. Documents and maintains patient emergency records of services.

G. Has the ability to liaison with U.S. Military and Coalition Forces medical assets and coordinate emergency evacuation and treatment plans.

H. Participates in training and orientation programs.

I. Plans and prepares for aero-medical evacuation missions.

J. Coordinates with operational mission planners for the safe evacuation of the patients from the originating mission to the destination facility.

 

Special Knowledge/Skills Required: FORMER SPECIAL FORCES MEDIC 18D Qualify and maintain proficiency with personal weapons M-9, M-4 and team weapons M240B, M249.
